André Brisson

André Brisson, Councillor

I was born and raised right here in Embrun, on the family farm where I now live with my wife Julie and daughters Vicki, Mélissa and Audrée. I went to school at École St-Jean, then attended École Secondaire d’Embrun and Collège de Technologie Agricole et Alimentaire d’Alfred for my post-secondary studies. My wife and I have owned the family dairy farm since 1997; together we operated it till 2013. Now we mainly rent the farmland, raise livestock in the winter and cultivate a few acres of hay over the summer.

What motivated you to become a Municipal Councillor?
My community has always been an important part of my life. I’m naturally drawn to work at the heart of organizations that aim to help improve the quality of life of those who live in the community and assembling all those people. At a young age I was a member of the 4-H Club, and now I’m a volunteer for the organization and also a member of the Optimists Club and a member of the Russell County Agriculture Federation. In 2014, I began having more spare time to devote to implicate myself in politics. I’m always available for the residents and appreciate hearing their ideas, opinions and worries. The development of our community is greatly important to me. Participating and giving time to my community has always been important to me.

What do you do for fun?
In my spare time, I love to go biking with my family, camping, fishing, downhill skiing and playing board games.
