July 13, 2020 - Rebates for Vacant Commercial and Industrial Units will End December 31, 2019
 
This program has been eliminated across all local municipalities within the United Counties of Prescott and Russell effective January 1, 2020, in accordance with Ontario Regulation 325/01, as amended.

The vacant unit rebate program for commercial and industrial properties has provided partial property tax rebates for qualifying units and buildings that were unoccupied and unused for a period of at least 90 days within a taxation year.

The last day of eligibility for potential claims was December 31, 2019. The last day on which a valid application could be made for the 2019 taxation year was February 28, 2020.





JUNE 22nd 2020 - WATER RESTRICTIONS IN EFFECT

The Township of Russell has implemented water restriction until further notice. Residents are asked to use water only when completely necessary.

During this restriction, watering lawns (with manual or automatic sprinklers) or pressure washing driveways is suspended and prohibited except for the following:

Residents with odd-numbered address will be allowed to water lawns on odd-numbered dates starting at 10pm to 6 am.

Residents with even numbered address will be allowed to water lawns on even-numbered dates starting at 10pm to 6 am.

The restriction applies to residents of Embrun, Russell and Marionville communities, which are served by the Township of Russell's water distribution system. This restriction applies even if Russell’s water source is the City of Ottawa.
